Vintage Style Easter card Tutorial

Hello , Elaine here, I hope everyone is staying safe and well in these uncertain times.

I was looking through  some of my older Hobby art sets and was inspired to do a vintage style Easter Card project for you all.

Supplies:

  • Kraft Card
  • Coloured Card for Mats
  • circle Dies
  • Coloured Pencils
  • 3D Foam Tape
  • Craft Knife/ Scissors
  • Stamps

I cut a piece of Kraft Card  17x 11 cm’s . Using the Hare stamp from the  March  Hares  Stamp set I stamped onto the  centre of the card using  Memento – Rich Cocoa Ink Pad.

I next selected 2 circle dies to cut out a frame of Kraft card that fit on top of the hare. I used my Marianne basics dies and selected the 2 largest dies.

Next I cut a smaller piece of Kraft card and using the same ink I stamped some Daffodils into 2 bunches from the  Spring Scenes stamp set. I then fussy cut the daffodils using scissors.

You should now have stamped Hair Stamped and cut out daffodils and a die cut circle.

Now its time to colour, I used my Prismacolours, the shades are used are shown in the photograph.

Once the Images are coloured its time to assemble the card. using a craft knife I carefully cut around the top of the Hares ears . I placed the hare onto a foam mad and using my embossing tool I carefully shaped the ears to give them some dimension. I used some Walnut stain distress ink to edge around the frame. I added some 3d foam to the back of it and carefully placed it over the Hare and behind his ears.

The next step is adding some 3d foam tape to the back of the daffodils, I lined them up to the bottom of the card and positioned them over the top of the frame.

Next I stamped the “Happy Easter” from the Spring has Sprung  stamp set onto a die cut banner that was edge inked and placed it above the hare.

Final step is to mat onto some coloured card I chose a soft vintage yellow and again I inked around the edges of the kraft and yellow card and placed it onto a card blank.
