Floral mix with white embossing

Hi everyone Laura with you all today, hope you all watched the fab shows with Jenny in June.

I thought I’d share a make with you, with my favourite of the new stamps Floral mix,

To start with I made a 6×6 card blank and cut a layer of blue card stock to mat onto the card base.

I then used one of my Tim Holtz stencils and added the pattern with texture paste.

Stamp each flower out twice with versa ink pad and heat emboss with white embossing powder, when colour in using your preferred alcohol ink pens.

Place the flowers layered up around a circle die cut with the sentiment stamped on it to finish,

hope you enjoyed todays card

some more vintage flowers

Hi everyone it’s Laura here today, hope you are all keeping well. I couldn’t resist another play with the monthly special set Vintage Flowers, Its just sooo pretty.

image1[1]

For this card I started with a 6×6 card blank and cut a sheet of white stamping card down to fit onto the card leaving a thin black border around edge.

I’ve then continually stamped the flower stamp all over the piece of stamping card using black versa fine ink pad.

Then stamp your distress ink pad on to your glass mat and add a little water to them, so they can be used to water colour. The colours I’ve used are barn door, spiced marmalade and mustard seed.

Once all the flowers are coloured I then coloured the petals and stems in the same way using bundled sage.

I then distressed and edges with a distressing tool and added some spiced marmalade and barn door to the edges to add some colour to the edges.

Then I cut a thin strip of stamping card and stamped the sentiment onto it, then I’ve distressed the edges and added colour in the same way, then matted that to some black card stock and placed it down with two brads.

Hope you’ve all enjoyed todays post, see you soon

Vintage flower love!

Hello craft buddies! Waw can you believe we are nearly half way through January already, where are the weeks going? Any way I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a very happy new year, hopefully Santa left you some new crafty goodies to play with!

I’ve been playing with the vintage flowers monthly special stamp and I must say I love this set its really a set that id use over and over for lots of different occasions.

image2[1]

To start with I’ve cut a sheet of black card stock to 5 inches wide and scored in half to make my base card.

Then I’ve cut a sheet of stamping card to fit on my base leaving a thin black boarder around the edges.

Stamp the flower in the middle of the card using versa mark ink pad and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Stamp the distress ink picked raspberry and dust concord on to a glass mat, add a little water and paint the flower with a water brush, it’s easy to keep in the stamp cause of the embossing.

Distress the edges with an old pair of scissors or a distressing tool and then rub over with distress ink vintage photo.

To finish stamp the sentiment from the set under the flower using a black ink pad

Thanks for stopping for a nose

Snow Globe and Bertie

Hello everyone, wow I can’t believe how quickly the weeks are going. I seen a few shops with all the Christmas presents and gift out so that has giving me the push to start making my personal Christmas card. I’m normally so rubbish and end up buying cards but not this year that’s the plan anyway!

So I just happened to see this stunning snow globe die on the Hobby Art website and I just had to get it. The die itself is huge and the snowman you can make with is super cute but I wanted it to stamp in the globe.

IMG_3114

I decided to use one of my favourite stamps Bertie the snowman and stamp him in the globe, the great thing with this die is the size it can easily fit full size stamps onto it and that’s just great for us stampers.

As the snow man had a hat on and there’s some snow on the fence I had to use Fluffy stuff and after applying while it’s still wet sprinkle with fine flitter and then heat it with a heat gun the fluffy stuff will then fluff up with glitter on it.

Then for the sentiment I have used the Let it snow from the Winter’s snowflakes set.

Hope you all have enjoyed today’s post see you soon,

Wildflower monthly special

Hi everyone aren’t we so lucky this month!! If you haven’t already headed over to check out this months, monthly special offer then seriously head on over cause this month it is an absolute stunner of a set!

That is actually what I thought id share with you all today I just loved the Wildflowers Set and had to play with this set straight away!

IMG_3208

For the this card I used the Wildflowers stamped with black versa fine over a circle background made using spiced marmalade and picked raspberry distress ink, I then went in with a pink stickles on the flowers to make them pop a bit more.

IMG_3209

For the next card I made I’ve stamped the same flower 3 times and coloured in with my aqua markers but then gone over with my clear wink of stella to make it glittery. I’ve added this to a black background card sprayed with spray and sparkle to add some more glitter.

Hope you like this two makes I’m sure I’ll be making lots more with this set

Don’t let the sheep have all the fun!

Hi everyone I have you started making your Christmas cards yet? I’m trying to make one a week so I’m not panicking in December. So I just loved the baa humbug set so much and they were so much fun to use but it got me thinking at to what else I could have fun with dressing up in funny hats and accessories and so that’s what I’ll be showing you today.

A stamp set that I love is the Owls set, I just had so much fun with this set. So I thought I bet the Christmas hat would fit an owl and it did!!!

IMG_3205

This makes the owl look so cute and know very Christmas themed. I’m now off to hunt lots of other stamps down to put hats on everything!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and that you’ll be putting hats and glasses on lots of your other sets to

Snowflakes with acetate

Hi everyone wow what a busy show it was last month and yes I have been that behind in doing my posts, Oops! Anyway I just loved all the stamp sets in the show I really couldn’t stop playing with them so I thought I’d do a few posts for you all with my makes.

To start with I think we will look at the Winter Snowflake set I think this is such a versatile stamp set that is used over and over on its own or to make snowy backgrounds.

image1

To start with I used some heat resistant acetate and stamped out 3 of the snowflakes with a veramark ink pad and heat embossed with a white embossing powder.

Cut a card blank to 6×5, cut a piece of silver mirror card to fit in to the card blank leaving a thin boarder and the same again with a piece of white card onto the mirror card.

On the white card cut to fit onto the mirror card using two of the smallest size snowflakes randomly stamp them all over the card using a metallic silver brilliance ink pad.

Stamp the sentiment from the Merry little Christmas again with versamark and heat emboss with silver embossing powder.

Cut the sentiment into a banner shape and stick to silver mirror card and cut out the mirror card leaving a thin boarder.

Finally add the small snowflake to the top right-hand side and with the larger two, place a brad through the middle to keep the together and bend them slightly to give them some shape, glue next to the sentiment.

Wink of Luna and poppies

Hi everyone Laura here it’s been to long so I thought I’d do a little post for you all today. I hope you’ve been enjoying the lovely weather we have been having it’s been so lovely having the sun shining even though in my craft room it is looking more like a festive winter month 😉

Any way let’s get on with today’s make! I really wanted to use my wink of Stella on a card i was making with acetate and it didn’t work out but it made me think about using the wink of Luna on acetate and they work amazing!!!!

 poppies

To start with I have stamped the poppy bloom stamp with a black Stazon on to a normal sheet on acetate.

Turn the acetate sheet over and colour in the flowers the colour of your choice I have used the red and green. The wink of Luna really sticks to the acetate and dries quite quickly to.

I’ve then cut my acetate to fit into one of my decorative dies which I have foam mounted to give it a bit if height.

Finished with a lovely sentiment from the sentiments set, gems and ribbon.

Such an easy card to make as the acetate and colouring with the wink’s is so easy as the Luna’s just works so well. Ill definitely be using my Luna’s on more stuff so will be back hopefully with something else with them soon

Beautiful Birds

Morning everyone, hope you are all keeping well.

Today I thought we could look at the lovely rubber stamps birds on the wire and birds on the branch. You can get these individually or as a set with a little saving.

image2 (1)

For the both of these cards I have stamped out the images using black versarfine and then I have coloured the birds and branch in with the amazing wink of stella. I’ve used a mix of purple, pink, blue and clear wink of stella to colour in the birds as you can mix the colours together with a effortless blend they are great fun to colour with and easy to use.

image1 (2)

For the sentiments on these cards they have both come from the set inspirations.

Thank you for stopping by Laura x

Dudley the Donkey

Hi everyone from a rainy south Wales, the sun has well and truly disappeared down here, I hope it’s a bit sunnier where you are.

Wow did you catch Jenny on create and craft this week? What a busy show and you all must love the new sets as much as me cause they sold out!

So for today’s post I thought we could look at the cutie pie that is Dudley. I really love this set and it’s a set that is going to be used time and time again for me and as my mum loves donkeys I think you can guess what stamps I’ll be using to make her birthday card in a few months.

The first card I’m going to show you is a fairly simple card I have stamped Dudley or I guess in this card it could be Dilly along a strip of water colour card, coloured with spectrum aqua pens and added the sentiment from the same set on the side.

 image1 (1)

I hope you also like this card I have made by cutting the bits out and layering them up it gives a 3D effect and you can also change the angle of Dudley’s head.

image2

I have also made one of the wooden frames up from the Christmas set but it just goes to show that they do not need to be for Christmas,

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post, be back soon Laura x

Open flowers

Hi Everyone!!! I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and I hope that you all have a wonderful new year, late I know but this is my very first blog post of the year.

For my first blog post and my first non Christmas card for quite a while, I had to use this beautiful Open Flower stamp.

image1

What I did is stamped them onto craft card and then coloured the flowers in with my clear Wink of stella (that is in the winter sale at a amazing price!) by picking up some red from my red wink of stella to give it a more subtle colour.

I have then used a sentiment from the very lovely Friend set to go with the flowers.

Hope you’ve enjoyed todays make ill be back soon

image hobbyart

For this card I’ve used Rodney the reindeer  and I’ve also used these really fun papers from the Nordic Christmas 6×6 pad. I’ve coloured the reindeer using my spectrum noir pens and used distress inks for the background.

image hobbyart2

I used one of the wooden shape baubles  and painted it with a coat of white gesso, then I stamped Derrick the fox on the baubles with memento ink pad and coloured it in using my spectrum noir pens.

Chrismas colouring

Hi everyone hope you are all well and excited about the upcoming shows?

Jenny will be back on our screens 29th August at 10am and 2pm with some more stunning stamp sets for you all!

For my post today iv got back into my Christmas card making and have used the brilliant wink of stella to colour in this beautiful hobby art wreath.

image (7)

I always see Jenny using the pens on TV and always using the clear to blend out the colour and until recently I was a bit unsure of doing it (I didn’t want to ruin my clear) but know I have done it and haven’t ruined my clear! I am in love and am so sorry I haven’t done it before cause what a difference it makes!

This has just been coloured using the red and green wink of stella and it looks great and is lovely and glittery, but……

image (9)

This one has been coloured using the red, green and clear using the clear to blend the colour. I think it makes a huge difference!

image (6)

I really hope that you’ll give it a go because it really is so easy to do with the pens, they do all the work!

Hope you have enjoyed todays post!
