Spring Scenes….

photo of me 2

Morning all,

Are you looking forward to spring as much as I am?

I am not really a winter person at all and loathe the cold, so when Jenny sent me the gorgeous Spring Scenes  Stamp set, this was right up my street! I did not have a great deal of time to play with it but was asked to combine it with stencils, so this is what I came up with……

Spring Scenes

The first card is using the lovely daffodils from the Spring Scenes stamp set, I love daffodils they are one of my favourite flowers because they bring so much colour to this time of the year.

I combined it with Birch Trees stencil from imagination Crafts which was on the Create and Craft Show that Jenny had this stamp on. I really love this stencil and I had an idea with the daffodils stamp from this set….It was sparked of by memories of when I used to go walking quite a bit and would walk through local woods in the spring and see the daffodils nodding their heads above the snowdrops……

The seed was sown so I got to work…….

I created the background first by using Frayed Burlap and Crushed Olive Distress Inks with a blending tool through the stencil, I then put clear embossing powder on top and heat set it to create a resist background. I cleaned my stencil, reversed it and then used Antique Linen Distress ink through to add another layer of threes in the background to add dimension, I repeated the first step and embossed these too……

Next I die cut a circle in a piece of card to make a sun mask and then placed it over the trees and then used Mustard Seed Distress Ink to create a sun behind the trees. I really loved using resist techniques to add depth and drama to a scene……

With the background done I set about creating the foreground…..

Using several stamps from the set I stamped out a little scene on some white card to create a corner scene. I used Aqua markers and Distress inks to colour them. I cut a white border around the edge of them  and then 3D’d them to the main image. With a little matting and layering and an added sentiment I was done!

For the next one I used the same principles but this time using Birdsong Scene Stencil from Imagination Crafts ( another stencil on the program ) , I used Scattered Straw and Mustard seed Distress ink for the background…….The message is from Hobby Art Sunny Day Greeting Stamp set which I stamped in Vintage Sepia Versafine ink…….

Sunny Day Greetings

I created the foreground in the same way as the card above , just using daffodils this time and adding a little bit of sparkle to them…..

Well that is all from me for now, have a great weekend and look out for those daffodils popping there heads through the ground as Spring will soon be here…..

Autumn canvas……

photo of me 2

Good Morning all,

How are we all today, keeping well and warm I hope?

It seems a long time since I have posted here and I hope everyone had a great Christmas……

My make today is a canvas that I made for Jenny at the end of last year for Create and Craft, however jenny forgot  to take it with her, bless her she has so much to remember to take…. I know the feeling!!

Anyway I thought that I would give you a good look at it today. I used the gorgeous Falling Leaves Stamp set and Sunny Day Greetings Stamp set……

Falling Leaves    Sunny Day Greetings

I really enjoyed getting inky and messy creating this, it made me feel like a child again when my mum used to let me loose with paints!!!

So let’s take a look…….

I used acrylic paints on the canvas background…….

Birds and Berries…..

photo of me 2

Morning all, How are we today?……

Well I would like to really like to say good morning but I have shingles at the moment and are not feeling too clever at the minute!!

However I thought that I would show you a few samples that I made for Jenny last month using the new Christmas Birds and Berries Stamp set:

Berries & Birds

I absolutely love this set as I really love robins, I think that they are one of the most friendliest birds on this earth and they are so lovely to look at, so I really enjoyed playing around with this set. It was a slightly tight deadline but here are three cards that I came up with using this set:

photo 1 copy

I really like the ivy in this set, it is a stamp that I would use all year round and not just for Christmas, great for men’s cards and would look good in sepia colours too…..

photo 2 copy

I used some Wow sparkle embossing powder on the ivy and decoupaged them……

photo 3 copy

For the next card I stamped and embossed the image and then coloured it with Pro-markers and then cut away a panel to got on to the front of the card…….

photo 4 copy

I used the separate holly stamp elements in the set to embellish the card…….

photo 1 copy

For the last card I made it my mission not to use the robins but just use the holly elements in the stamp set and some wording from it……

photo 3 copy

I used wink of stella over the top of the holly leaves, I think it works really well…..

I would love to hear your comments…..

Big hugs Lisa.B xx

Christmas Penguins….

photo of me 2

Morning all,

How are you all today? Did you have a wet Bank holiday too?

The weather is definitely changing and there is a nip in the air lately……summer never lasts long enough for me! Well I  know we haven’t gone through Autumn yet but I have been working on samples for Jenny for her next show on Create and Craft on 29th August at 10am and 2pm which is Christmas of course and although I cannot show you those samples at the moment, I took time out from them to make another card with the gorgeous Penquins Set from the last show.

Penguins

So here it is……..

photo 1 copy

I started by creating a double mountain card by sticking two 6″ square cards together to create a 3 fold card and then folding the third side in half to create the lower mountain…..

photo 2 copy

The background that i mat and layered is an Imagination Crafts Christmas background which I love as it is…..

I then used the lovely Penquin stamp set to create my scene on a piece of white super smooth card. I used black versafine to stamp it and then embossed it with Wow clear sparkle embossing powder to add that extra  Christmas sparkle……

photo 3 copyYou can really see the sparkle on here……..

photo 5I coloured the main images with Pro- Markers and cut away the scene and matted it on black card before attaching to the front mountain on the card……

photo 4 copy

I also added a couple of punched snowflakes and gems to the front…..

Well I hope that you like my little Penquins Inspiration and please leave me a comment …..

Butterfly Box…..

lisa

Good morning all, how are we all today?

Well I know everyone has been playing with Christmas lately but I have one sample to show you that is not Christmas……

As you know by now I love the Hobby Art Butterflies stamp set and the other week I thought that I would have a play around with a pop up box card as everyone seemed to be doing them.

Butterflies  Script & Grasses Set

So this is what I came up with……

photo 1 copy

I really enjoyed making this box using this set it was perfect for it. I also used the Script and Grasses stamp set which worked really well with the butterflies……

photo 3 copy

I stamped the images with Onyx Black Versafine ink and then embossed them with Wow clear sparkle powder. You can see the sparkle on the message…..

photo 1 copy

I used a wash of Weathered Wood Distress ink to add some colour to the butterflies and used a blending tool to soften the edges of the box……

Well I hope that you have enjoyed my inspiration, next time will be Christmas projects to show you…..

Big hugs Lisa.B.x

Christmas in July?….

lisa

Morning all,

Is it as humid where you are as it has been here in Maidstone for the last few days? Now don’t get me wrong I love the summer and the heat but the humidity in my studio has been too much!

Well I have been really busy this week working on samples for Create and Craft on Friday, so I have not had chance to make something new this week so I thought that I would show you some of the samples that I made for Jenny for her last Create and Craft show.

Now I apologise as time was tight getting these made for Jenny before my Event day and I ended up sending them off to her without photographing them, so I have no close ups as I usually do and l have had to take these off of the gallery photos……..

Lisa - Tree

This first one is using the Poinsettia Tree and the Christmas Flourishes coloured with Wink of Stella……..

 Lisa - Robin

This next one is using Robin on Wellies and the Christmas Flourishes and I also coloured this one with Wink of Stella……

Lisa - Penguins

I love this little penguin from the Penguins stamp set and it has great scene building trees in the set too……

Well that it all from me for now as I have to get back in to the studio…..

Until next time,

Hugs Lisa. B.xx
