Today I would like to share with you a card I made using the Dovecote stamp set.
- white card
- Hobby Art watercolour card
- Coloured card
- Dovecote stamp set
- Versafine Ink Pad
- acrylic paint
- Funky Foliage Stencil
- Driftwood Stencil
- Distress inks for colouring and inking
- cross template
- Media gel plate oval
- Corner punch
- 3D Foam Tape
Firstly I cut out the cross from white card I have a template for the cross, you can save and use.
I Inked the smallest cross with scattered straw distress ink, then using the driftwood stencil over the top I added frayed burlap through the stencil.
Then using the larger cross I inked it with walnut stain, then layered the two together. then i set the cross aside
I next cut a piece of white card 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches
For the next step we need the Media gel plate , the card, acrylic paint, brayer and the foliage stencil also a damp cloth or baby wipe. remember we need to work quickly as the acrylic paint starts to dry fast on the plate.
Add a drop of paint to the media plate I chose a soft blue but you can use any colour you like. Using the brayer roll over the paint and spread it out over the media plate, next add the foliage stencil over the plate and wipe away the paint through the stencil. remove the stencil the press down your cut card on top of the gel plate to transfer your image.
We now have the background to the card.
I chose a coloured card stock similar to the colour of the acrylic paint I used. I cut it slightly larger than the background card, using my corner punch i rounded off all the corners and layered them up and using some 3D foam tape I positioned the cross.
I stamped a sentiment onto some white card inked around the edges then added it to the card using 3D foam tape. I used the lovely words from Hobby Art’s Irises Stamp Set. Then positioned and added the doves and dovecote and finally I glued the card onto a card blank.
I hoped this inspires you
