Highland Cattle

Hello everyone,

Elaine here with my very first Hobby Art Blog Post using the lovely new February  stamp set Highland Cattle.

 COW

I started by taking a 5×7 card blank and a 5×7 piece of patterned paper and  I used an oval die to cut out an aperture from both.

I then used the larger thistle stamp to stamp on to the frame using black memento ink.

I cut out a piece of stamping card to fit into the inside of the card a little smaller than 5×7,

Then I stamped out the cattle images to build up a scene also using memento black ink  and popped it under my aperture to check how it looked.

Now to colour in the stamped images.  I started with the background first and using my promarkers  I started at the sky and worked down to the grasses at the front.

Then I coloured in the cattle added a matt and glued it into the inside of the card

I stamped out a couple of the Thistles onto some stamping card and coloured them in along with the thistles on the front aperture. I cut out a couple of flags from the patterned paper and inked around the edges with some dusky concorde distress ink.

I also inked around the aperture then glued it onto the front of the card, I then fixed the flags to each side at the top of the card and using some 3d glue gel I added the thistle heads, and here we have the finished card.
