Playing with poppies (and Brushos…)

Hello there, Alexandra here!

I have been playing with the gorgeous October special “Poppy heads” and the Brushos I only just discovered very recently (Yes, I know, what rock was I hiding under?) Can’t believe I have been resisting these for so long, they are sooooo much fun!

And as I love the Poppy heads as well I thought a good play was in order and I want to share what I did.

First I took some watercolour card and stamped the poppy heads, leaves and stems in Versamark and heat embossed with White detail embossing powder. Then I taped it down onto my craft mat with packing tape as I didn’t have any masking tape… it worked fine although I was a bit apprehensive about that.

Here is a picture of what it looked like after I sprinkled on some dry crystals:

It doesn’t look like much, does it? But this is after spritzing some water on and using a damp brush to move the colour inside the image lines:

Not too shabby, is it? I really love the effect!

As it’s quite a large image and I couldn’t decide what to do with it, I have decided for the moment it is going to speak for itself in a simple picture frame.

Any ideas for future improvements/uses for this are very welcome!!

Have a great weekend ahead xxx

Alex, this is absolutely amazing! It’s like real magic to see such a plain looking piece of paper turning into such a masterpiece! Now I’m even more disappointed that I didn’t make it to see you at the latest Hobbyart workshop. I always admire your work, but this picture is really special, congratulations!
