Up, Up and Away

Hi All, Kimx here.
This is my first post on the Hobby Art blog, and knowing how rubbish I am with computers of late anything could happen.
I thought that I would share one of the cards that I made for Jenny last time she was on the box.
Or at least I would if I could work out how to add a picture.
I am writing this and getting advise from the team on facebook at the same time.
Multitasking, how cool am I !!!

Hopefully you are looking at a picture of my card made using the Hot Air Balloon from the new Vintage set.

The balloon has been stamped and embossed onto watercolour card stock and then painted using Distress inks and the ‘Wet Watercolour Technique’.

I fussy cut it out and added it to the background panel using silicon.
Regular visitors to my blog will know how much I love silicon, I get through loads of tubes of it.
The background to the card has been made using glossy card stock, Versamark ink and Distress inks to create a resist image.
This is like magic painting for grown ups and really is a fabulously easy way to create a background.
It is also a great way of using lots of stamps all at once without the card looking overloaded with images.

Glossy card stock can be difficult to stamp on as sometimes the stamp slips on the shiny surface. A good way round this is to use a piece of acetate.
Yes I know, it is shiny as well I can hear you say, but as it is see through, and cheap, if the stamping goes wrong you can always start again without having to remake all of that beautiful background.
It is also a great way to hide a mistake if your stamping is not up to par.
The acetate on this very card hides the fact that my stamped sentiment went a little wrong, but you would never know unless I told you.
I think I am going to quit while I am ahead with this post. Besides I have lovely new stamp sets to play with for the next TV show.
I will try and post again later in the month.
You never know I might not need so much back up next time. Well I can but hope at least.
Hugs and happy crafting
Kimx
