Have a Hoot!

 Hello, Heidi here to share another blog project with you. 

I was a work colleague’s birthday recently and I know she adore’s owls, so I made this card for her using this gorgeous set of owls
and leaves.


 Products Used
 Hobby Art ‘Ornate Owls’ stamp set
 Wood Grain Embossing Folder
 Circle die
 Shaped Card Blank
 Brown and green card scraps
 White stamping card
 Memento ‘Rich Cocoa’ ink pad
 Memento Inkpad : Olive Grove
 Versafine Ink pad : Brown
 Promarker Pens
 Black fine line pen
 Glossy Accents
 Tools : Sharp scissors, Cosmic Shimmer Glue, Sticky pads
 Card Instructions
 (1) Start by die cutting a large circle from brown card and emboss using ‘wood grain’ folder.
 (2) Stamp up owl, leaves and sentiment onto white card, colour in using pens of choice.
 (3) Using small leaf shape, stamp up onto card blank using green brown inkpads.
 (4) Stick brown circle onto card shape centrally.
 (5) Matt sentiment onto a piece of green card and doodle around edge.
 (6) Stick sentiment down onto card.
 (7) Cut out owl shape and leaves.
 (8) Arrange around card as shown in photo.
 (9) Add glossy accents to eyes of owl and to selected leaves on card.

Nesting Card


Good morning,

Heidi here to share a little card with you using the gorgeous ‘Nesting‘ stamp set.

Lots of beautiful birds visit our garden every day and they leave with their beaks stuffed full of twigs and leaves for their nests.  I just love this little image, with little eggs and lots of lovely flowers.


My little card has been made using the following products :

Hobby Art ‘Nesting‘ stamp set, Fanciful Card Blank, Sizzix Lace Die, Large Circle Die, Small Scallop Die, Green & Yellow Card, Memento ‘Rich Cocoa’ ink pad, Promarker pens and Stickles ‘Mercury Glass’ glitter glue.  Sharp scissors and Cosmic Shimmer Glue.


I put my card together, as follows :

(1) Firstly, die cut a large circle from green card. A white scallop from white card and the lace die from a piece of yellow card. Put to one side.

(2) Onto scallop card, stamp up main image and colour in.

(3) On a strip of white card, stamp up leaf and flowers images using Rich Cocoa inkpad. Matt onto a piece of yellow card.

(4) Stamp out two leafs and three flower images, colour in and cut out.

(5) Stamp up a sentiment of choice, matt onto green card.

(6) Stick elements down onto card blank, edging all with ink pad.

(7) Add leaves and flowers to edges of main image and also add small flower image to sentiment corner.

(8) Add Stickles to flower centres, leave to dry.

Country Ramble Tunnel Card

Hello, Heidi here to share a blog project with you.

It has been a while since I have posted a project on the Hobby Art blog.  Am so thrilled to be back on the Design Team and get to play with all of the beautiful stamps. Thank you for all of the lovely comments that have been left for me, I was really touched!


When these beauties dropped through my letterbox, I just had to get inking them up and get colouring.  Country Ramble is such a versatile set.  I especially love the rambling rose that comes in the set, I have coloured in using the glorious Wink of Stella pens.


Here is a list of products used and some instructions.

CS123D Country Ramble Stamp Set and CS067D Inspirations Stamp set


White Card blank, Embossing folder, Peeled Paint and Spun Sugar inkpads

Wink of Stella Pens : Blue, Pink, Green, Yellow, Brown and Clear

Die-namics Wonky Edge Square Die set and Gold Stickles Glitter glue.


(1) Die-cut a square from the front of the card blank.

(2) Onto square piece of die-cut card, stamp up main image, colour in.

(3) Onto white stamping card, stamp up four rambling rose images, colour in and cut out.

(4) Using embossing folder and die cutting machine, emboss front of card blank.

(5) Ink around front and inside of card using inkpads.

(6) Stamp sentiment to front of card.

(7) Stick down elements onto card as shown.

(8) Lastly, add some Stickles to the centre of the roses, leave to dry.

Poppy Fold Card

Poppy Fold Card


Hello, Heidi here again to share another blog project with you.  I have made my card using the glorious new October Monthly Special stamp set ‘Poppy Heads‘.


It is such a useful set, and I love how the flowers can be stamped, cut out and built up to look like the real thing. 

I really love the background stamp and I have stamped the poppies onto vellum and have coloured the images in using ‘Wink of Stella’ pens.

Card Products :

‘Poppy Heads’ stamp set (CS114D)

‘Friends’ Sentiment set (CS043D)

Black and Red Bazzill Card


White stamping cardstock

Versafine Inkpad – Onyx Black

Wink of Stella Pens – Green and Red

Black Embossing Powder

Heat gun, sharp scissors and Cosmic Shimmer glue

Trimmer and Scoring board


Here is how I made my card : 

(1) Stamp up two of each poppies onto vellum.

(2) Cover with embossing power and heat with a heat gun.

(3) When fully dry, colour in with Red ‘Wink of Stella’ glitter pens.

(4) Cut out poppies and put to one side.

(5) Cut an oblong of red card to measure : 14.5cms x 28.5cms, score in half

(6) Cut a piece of black card : 14cms x 28cms, again score in half and stick to red piece.

(7) Cut a piece of white card to measure : 27cms x 13cms.

(8) Stamp the ‘Poppy’ writing stamp all over the white card.

(9) On a trimmer, 2cms in from right side. Cut down starting at 3.5cms, stopping at 23.5cms.

(10) Turn around and do the same to other side.

(11) Using a score board, score at top first, 8.5cms, then centre at 13.5cms (all way down card). Then 18.5cms at top only again.

(12) Moving to the centre pieces, score at 3.5 (lining up top and bottom) and then again at 5.5cms.

(13) Turn card around and do the same to match the top of card on other side.

(14) Stick piece inside, one side at a time as shown carefully.

(15) Onto white stamping card, stamp up leaves, colour in with green ‘Wink’ and cut out.

(16) Cut two small red pieces to go inside onto folds.

(17) Stamp up a sentiment of choice, matt onto black card and stick down.

(18) Cut an oblong from black card and one from white. Stamp ‘Poppy’ writing over white pieces, stick together and onto front of card.

(19) Stamp up ‘To a Special Friend’, matt and stick to front.

(20) Stick flowers and leaves together and down onto front and inside of card.

Autumn Project

Hello, Heidi here to share an ‘Autumn’ themed project today.

I have been walking in our local park this week and have seen some wonderful wildlife and fabulously coloured trees.  So I just knew that I had to get out this gorgeous little set – Forest Friends, ink up and make a card!


Products Used :

CS090D Forest Friends

CS076D Alphabet – Typed

Kraft Card Blank

Green card

White stamping cardstock

Promarker Pens

Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad

Glossy Accents

Clear ‘Wink of Stella’

Bakers Twine

Pencil, Scissors, Sticky Pads and Cosmic Shimmer Glue

Card Instructions :

(1) Using the small ‘oak leaf’ from the ‘Forest Friends’ set, stamp image all over the edge of the kraft card blank.

(2) Cut a square of green card and stick down onto card blank, at an ankle as shown.

(3) Using a circle shape, draw round using pencil and stamp up oak leaves around the circle.

(4) Colour in using Promarker pens and cut out inside and around edge to make a ring.

(5) Stamp up eight ‘acorns’ and colour in, cut out individually.

(6) Onto a circle of white stamping card, stamp up tree, mushroom and squirrel images. Colour in and edge all white pieces with ink pad.

(7) Cut a square of white stamping card, stamp up two ‘acorns’ in each corner, colour in.

(8) Stick down circle centrally and place ‘oak leave ring’ over edge of circle.

(9) Attach acorns around ring and the other four around card as shown.

(10) Stamp up ‘AUTUMN’ using ‘Alphabet – Typed’, cut out.

(11) Stick all elements down onto card blank, attach letters to front of card.

(12) Add glossy accents to acorns and clear ‘Wink of Stella’ to leaves.

(13) Tie a bow around card using Baker’s Twine.

Bobin the Robin


I Have made a little card using my favourite ‘Berries & Birds’ set, they are so lovely!

We have a baby robin in our garden who comes everyday, its so cute with half a red breast and lots of fluffy feathers.

We have called him ‘Bobin’.  I have used ‘Wink’ on the berries and Promarker’s for the rest of the colouring in.


Berries & Bird’s card

Products Used :

Hobby Art ‘Berries & Bird’s’ stamp set (CS082D)
Small white card blank
Red card
White stamping card
Memento ‘Rich Cocoa’ ink pad
Promarker pens
Red ‘Wink of Stella’ pen
Circle punch
Cream pearl

Card Instructions :

(1) Stamp up one ‘robin’, several ‘holly and berries’ and one sentiment onto stamping card.
(2) Colour in all images and cut out, leaving a small white edge around edges.
(3) Edge card blank with inkpad, cut a red square of card, stick to card front.
(4) Cut a white square, again edge with ink and stamp ‘holly and berries’ image all over randomly.
(5) Punch two edges from card square.
(6) Ink around and matt sentiment onto red card and stick to card front.
(7) Arrange ‘holly & berries’ images around sentiment, stick down.
(8) Add sticky pads to back of robin image and place sitting on branch.
(9) Add red ‘Wink of Stella’ to berries, leave to dry.
(6) Add small pearl to top of sentiment.

Sunflower Tutorial

Circle die shapes in two sizes
Sharp scissors, Trimmer and Cosmic Shimmer Glue
Insert Sunflower and Sentiment stamp images please Emoji
Card Instructions :
(1) Stamp up large ‘Sunflower’ image and stamp around the card blank, leave to dry.
(2) Die cut one large circle from green card and one smaller from white stamping card.
(3) Stamp up seven sunflower images, colour in and cut out using sharp scissors.
(4) Stamp up background image and fences, onto white circle, colour in.
(5) Place sunflowers around circle as shown, stick down with sticky pads and glue.
(6) Stamp up sentiment onto a piece of white card, edge with sunflower stamp.
(7) Matt sentiment onto a piece of green card, stick each side down, raising centre.

Summer Holiday/Shells Pop-Up Card

Hello, Heidi here to share a quick tutorial on my little ‘Summer Holiday/Shells’ Pop-Up Card.


I love these two new sets of stamps, I cannot stop playing with them! The little bunting stamp is such fun to decorate your card with. These lovely stamps make fun and colourful cards for summer time events and if you love to colour and cut out like I do, this card is just right for you!

My little card folds flat and only uses a small amount of white card and a sliver of acetate. The seagulls have been given the names of ‘Cliff’ and ‘Richard’, just right to go with the ‘Summer Holiday’ set lol.

Shells – CS101D and Summer Holiday – CS102D


 Card Instructions :

(1) Firstly, using a scrap of white card, cut to measure : 15cms x 8cms.

(2) Score vertically at : 8.5cms – top to bottom.

(3) Score horizontally : 3.5cms, 7cms, 10.5cms and 14cms.

(4) Cut small oblong out and from top downwards, cut down score lines to middle of card.

(5) Stick card together with glue.

(6) Cut two small oblong pieces of card : 5.5cms x 2cms. Score at 1cms and 4.5cms, stick to inside edges of card. These pieces stick inside to hold your elements.

(7) Cut four pieces of white scrap card : 3cms x 5cms and four measuring : 3cms x 2cms.

(8) Using ‘wave’ stamp from ‘Shells’ set and with ‘Broken China’ ink pad, stamp all over all pieces, edge with ink pad.

(9) Stick these elements down onto front panels of card and smaller pieces to front flaps.

(10) Onto white card, stamp up your card elements. I stamped up : one beach hut, two flying seagulls, one standing seagull, one sandcastle, two starfish, two conche shells, one scallop shell and four bunting.

(11) Colour in with pens of choice and cut out.

(11) Attach a small oblong of acetate in between two flying seagulls, stick well inside back of card

(12) Place your remaining elements into card.

(13) Add pearls to starfish centres.

Lavender Tutorial

Hello, Heidi here to share a blog project with you, using the gorgeous ‘Lavender’ set, which was recently launched.  I really love this set, is full of glorious images.

My little card today is very quick and easy to make.  I love the shape of the dies with the square card and the ‘Lavender’ elements.

I have made a little card using some of the elements, which I have coloured in using my Promarker pens and have cut out the elements to sit together.

Here is how I put my card together :


Card Products :

Lavender Stamp Set

Alphabet – Typed Stamp Set

Small White card blank

Purple and Lilac Bazzill Cardstock

White stamping card

Dusky Concord Distress ink pad

Memento ‘Black Tuxedo’ ink pad

Promarkers : Lilac, Lavender, Pastel Beige, Khaki and Pear Green

Go Kreate Die : Frilly # 5

Lavender pearls

Sharp scissors, Cosmic Shimmer Glue and sticky pads

Card Instructions :

(1) Die cut ‘Frilly’ Dies in two sizes from purple & lilac Bazzill card, stock together.

(2) Stamp up ‘Lavender’ elements of choice, colour in and cut out.

(3) Onto small tiles of white card, stamp up ‘Lavender’ using the ‘Dusky Concord’ ink, edge all round squares with ink pad.

(4) Edge white card blank with ink pad, as before.

(5) Place all of the elements down onto card, stick together.

(6) Place letters around bottom of card, attach sticky pads and stick down.

(7) Add four lavender pearls to each corner of card.

Bouquet Stamp Card

Hello, Heidi here to share another blog project with you today.
I have made a quick and easy card using the gorgeous new ‘Bouquet’ stamp set (on left), that was launched last month. It is such a statement image and is wonderful to colour in.
I have coloured in the main image using a Memento ‘Rich Cocoa’ inkpad and some soft coloured Promarker’s.
I have stamped the image, again in ‘Rich Cocoa’ around the white card blank and have matted the image onto some orange card, which makes the flower centres pop!  Lastly, have added some linen twine and some cream pearls.

Butterfly Frame

Heidi here to share another project with you today.


I have made a little frame using the gorgeously versatile set ‘Butterflies’, along with some turquoise card pieces and a wonderful die set ‘Hexagon Stax’ from Die-Namics.


Firstly, I started by die-cutting all of the elements out. I  have stamped the small butterfly all over the frame with Versafine ‘Vintage Sepia’ ink and cut out the butterflies and attached with strong glue.

Onto white card, I have stamped the sentiment in the set and edged with ink.  Then sticking all of the elements together using sticky pads to raise the frame elements.

Lastly, adding some pearls to the butterflies and frame corners.

Robin Stand Card

Hi, Heidi here to share another blog project.

I have made a little stand card using the ‘Berries and Birds’ stamp set, recently launched on Create & Craft TV. I just love this set.  As in all of the stamp sets, there are so many elements to mix and match – its stamping heaven!

Here is my card, a product list and how my card was made.

Stamp sets used :

CS082D Berries & Birds      CS059D Winter Wishes

Products Used :

Red Bazzill Cardstock, Cream stamping card, Red Berries Inkpad, Forest Moss Inkpad, Circle punch, Water brush, green ribbon and large cream pearl. Double sided tape and sticky pads.

How Card was made :

(1) Cut a large oblong from Red Bazzill, to measure : 28cms x 10cms.

(2) Score at 7cms and 14cms. Fold edges well.

(3) Cut another oblong from Red Bazzill, to measure : 11.5cms x 8cms.

(4) Cut cream card to matt onto card pieces.

(5) Stamp up holly and robin images all around the cream card pieces, using the ‘Red Berries’ and ‘Forest Moss’ inkpads. Ink edges of cream card with ‘Forest Moss’ inkpad.

(6) Stamp up sentiment to front of matt and inside card, as shown.

(7) Stamp up robin using ‘Forest Moss’ onto cream card. Colour in using water brush and inkpads.

(8) Cut robin out, add sticky pads and stick to card front.

(9) Tie cream ribbon round card front, tie a neat bow. Stick down to side piece.

(10) Punch a circle from Red Bazzill and stamp out circular sentiment onto cream card, cut out.

(11) Stick all elements together.

Mae Christmas Wreath

Good morning,

Heidi here to share another project with you.  I have made a Christmas wreath, using the lovely Mae stamp.


The stamp, comes with a super little sentiment – ‘A little bird told me’.  I have coloured the image in with Promarker’s and have coloured the little bird as a ‘Robin’.  I have die-cut two large circles, attached ribbon to the reverse and have added lots of Poinsettia shapes from some fabulous gold sparkly card.

Here is ‘Mae’


 Promarker Colours used : Mustard, Buttercup, Sandstone, Caramel, Ruby, Almond, Putty, Pastel Beige, Khaki, Pale Pink, Blossom Pink and Pear Green.

To finish off, I have added some gold pearls to the centres of the flowers.

Robin and Berries Mini-Star Book

Robins and Berries Mini-Star Book

Good morning, here is another blog project from me, Heidi. I have used the wonderful ‘Robin’s and Berries’ stamp set, recently launched.


I love to dabble in all things card and shaped cards and mini books are so my thing. I have been asked several times about how to make my little star-albums and as I do love to make them, here is a short tutorial for you to follow.  They make great little gifts, if left blank partly inside, photos can be inserted and they can be made into small brag books.

Here are some of the inside pages, using other images from the set also a great sentiments set called ‘Winter Wishes’.  I have used lots of brown ink inside and out, to age the album.


Products Used :

‘CS082D – Berries & Birds’ and ‘CS059D – Winter Wishes
Red, Kraft and white card
Versafine ‘Vintage Sepia’ Inkpad
Promarker Pens
Stickles ‘Red’ Glitter Glue
Red/White Baker’s Twine
Tools : Scissors, Double-sided tape, Sticky Pads, Trimmer and Scoreboard.

Lastly, the album tied together to form the star


Mini-Star Album Instructions :

 (1) Cut five oblongs of red card to measure 8cms x 16cm, score all in half.
(2) Cut five oblongs of kraft card to measure : 7cms x 14cms, score in half again.
(3) Cut five oblongs of white card to measure : 6cms x 12cms, score in half.
(4) From kraft card, cut another oblong to measure : 8cms x 18cms. This is the book cover.
(5) Score at 8cms and 9cms and then stamp small ‘holly’ image over one side.
(6) Using red and kraft card, stick edges together using double-sided tape, put aside.
(7) On white card oblongs, stamp up images and sentiments, colour in.
(8) Stamp up two of each robin images, colour in and cut out.
(9) Attach baker’s twine centrally to outside parts of mini-star album.
(10) Stick outside cover over twine, firmly.
(11) Attach robins inside and out.
(12) Add glitter glue to berries, leave to dry.

Bertie the Snowman Card

Hello, my turn (Heidi) to share a project with you today.

The weather is going to change over the next few days here, in the South East and I am hoping that we don’t get any snow. So wishing that Bertie the Snowman will be the only snow I see, here is a little card I have made using him and elements from two other sets.

A Poinsettia Telescope Card

Hello, Heidi here to share another project with you.


I have made a Christmas Telescope Card using the lovely set ‘Christmas Elements’ – CS022D.  I have had this little set for some time now.  I just love all of the different elements in the set, so much to play with!

I have used the ‘Poinsettia’ elements from the set. Products used : Tim Holtz ‘Peeled Paint’ inkpad, red and green Bazzill cardstock, two small metal brads, ‘Mercury Glass’ Stickles Glitter Glue and some green ribbon.

A Vintage Frame


Hello, Heidi here to share my project with you, an altered frame.


I am so in love with the ‘Vintage’ set, I have used it many times and again here on my frame. All of the elements in the set, work so well together and I have included a new stamp, FMSF09E ‘Swallow Flight’, a larger bird image.


I have stamped up various items from the stamp set, cut out and placed around the frame.  The inkpad used is a Memento ‘Rich Plum’.


I have used some gorgeous Maja Design paper, which is double-sided and have filled a little glass bottle with white lace and added some plum bakers twine. I have scattered a few little white pearls around the frame.

Hobby Art on TV and Otto The Owl Card


Good morning, Heidi here to share another blog project on the last Friday in August, but first ….

Hobby Art TV

Our lovely Jenny will be on Create & Craft today at 10am and 2pm. She will be showcasing lots of lovely new stamp sets.  Set your Sky+ for the hours above and feast your eyes on her wonderful demos and all of the gorgeous DT samples.

For my project today, I have made a little card using ‘Otto’. He and ‘Ozzy’ are two new owl stamps that Jenny will be showing you today. You will fall in love with them as much as the design team have.


The products I have used on my card are, some gorgeous Dovecraft papers, lots of kraft card, Memento ‘Rich Cocoa’ inkpad and Promarker’s.  I have stamped up the holly from the stamp and decoupaged the holly and sentiment and have added lots of red Stickles to the berries.

A Sunflower Twist Card


Good morning, Heidi here to share another blog project.

I have used the glorious ‘Sunflower’ set of stamps (CS064D Sunflowers) and lots of clear ‘Wink of Stella’. The sentiment is from ‘Sentiments’ (CS026D Sentiments) and the card blank is from Craftwork Cards.  I have coloured in the images with Promarker’s and inked all of the white edges with a Vintage Sepia inkpad.


Sunflowers are my all time favourite flowers and I just love how Sharon Bennett the designer of these stamps, has captured all of their loveliness in so many different images.

A Polar Bear Card


Good morning, teamie Heidi here to share another card with you.

I have made a kraft Christmas card, using the gorgeous new ‘Polar Bear’ stamp from the new range.  I have given him the name of ‘Fergus’, as I thought he looks like one lol.  I have used the stamp along with a wooden bauble and two more stamp sets from the Hobby Art website HERE.

The sets I have used are :

CS081D – Christmas Flourishes, CS030D – Christmas Sentiments, FMPB05F Polar Bear and Wood Baubles from Christmas Wooden TV Pack

The papers I have used are from a great paper pack ‘Kraft Christmas’ from Dovecraft, along with Woodware Dotty Ribbon, Versafine ‘Vintage Sepia’ inkpad and Memory Box ‘Snowflake’ die. I have coloured in using Promarker’s and have added some Stickles to the bear as snow.

Vintage Book Card


Hello everyone Heidi here to share a blog project.  I have made a book card using the following glorious Hobby Art stamp sets.  We recently made one at the Tadworth Workshop and I was asked so many times for the instructions, so grab yourself a coffee and here we go.

I used the gorgeous stamp sets : Vintage – CS079D and Butterflies – CS077D

At the top of the page, is the front of my card. I just love how all of the elements from each stamp set go so well together and you can mix and match with others from the Hobby Art range.


Above is the inside cover of the book card and below is the frame part where I have added a little glass bottle and some cream lace.


Here are items I have used to make my card.

Six sheets of White A4 Cardstock, Tim Holtz – ‘Brushed Corduroy‘ Inkpad, Cream lace, Small glass bottle, cream pearls.  Strong double-sided tape, sticky pads and glossy accents.

Book Card Instructions :

(1) Using white A4 cards, cut a piece of card to measure : 28cms x 13cms. Score at 13cms and 15cms.

(2) Cut four pieces of card : 24cms x 12cms. Score at every 2cms until end.

(3) Cut three further pieces of white card into squares, measuring : 12cms x 12cms and two more : 9cms x 9cms.

(4) Stamp all of your images onto the relevant card pieces as shown in the photos.

(5) Concertina the four pieces of scored card and stick together, this makes your frame. Ensure stamped side is on top.

(6) Add lace in loop to top of card. Stick elements into your book, inking all edges.

(7) Add a piece of lace to inside of bottle, stick in using glossy accents and leave to dry overnight.
